The invention relates to a game warning system with warning devices distributed along a monitoring section of a traffic route, each having at least one vehicle detector connected to an evaluation unit, at least one warning signal transmitter which can be controlled by the evaluation unit, and a transmitting and receiving device connected to the evaluation unit for radio transmission of a control signal for actuation of the warning signal generator of adjacent warning devices.
In order to give the game to be scared to react to a warning signal, it is known (US 2003/0071735 A1, WO 2013/144312 A1), when detecting an approaching vehicle, not only the warning signal generator of the warning device that is on the vehicle detector is located next or has the vehicle detector, but at the same time also to actuate the warning signal transmitter of at least one warning device following in the direction of travel of the detected vehicle, so that the warning signals emitted by the individual warning devices lead ahead of the vehicle at a distance and the game is scared away from the vehicle with a safety distance. In order to ensure this cascade-like triggering of the warning signal generators, the warning devices distributed along a monitoring section of the traffic route are connected to one another, for example by a radio network, in order to be able to send and receive control signals for actuating the warning signal generators via the transmitting and receiving devices of the individual warning devices. The warning devices can forward control signals in a predetermined sequence with a time delay (US 2003/0071735 A1) or can be controlled individually by a higher-level control unit (WO 2013/144312 A1), which is different from / 13
Control and monitoring of warning devices adapted to requirements in a monitoring section of the traffic route is permitted. This possibility of adaptation, however, requires considerable control effort, because each warning device must be assigned its own identifier, which makes it difficult to set up such a game warning system and, particularly when replacing or adding a warning device, requires the control to be adapted.
The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a game warning system in such a way that a cascade-like control of the individual warning devices distributed along a traffic route can be ensured by means of a detected vehicle using a comparatively simple control. In particular, the mutually identical warning devices should be able to be distributed in any order along the monitoring section without having to intervene in the control. In addition, individual warning devices should be able to be replaced or added without the need for control intervention.
Starting from a game warning system of the type described at the outset, the invention achieves the object in that the transmitting and receiving devices have a transmission range which is limited to a partial length of the monitoring section of the traffic route and in that a timer blocks the re-activation of the warning signal generator for a predetermined period of time.
As a result of these measures, the transmission range of the control signal sent by the individual warning devices for controlling the warning signal transmitter by radio is limited to a partial length of the monitoring section of the traffic route due to the selected frequency, taking into account the transmission power and the sensitivity of the receivers, a warning device is not activated when the vehicle detector responds only its warning signal transmitter, but also the adjacent warning devices located in the range of the transmission range, whose warning signal transmitters are thus also actuated, if the / 13
Actuation of the warning signal generator is not blocked. This lock applies, for example, to those warning devices that have already been passed by the vehicle and in which when the vehicle detector responds, a timer has been triggered that blocks the re-activation of the warning signal generator for a predetermined period of time. If this blocking time is coordinated with the transmission range and with the lower limit of a usual, average speed range of the vehicles passing through the monitoring section, it is thus possible, without additional control expenditure, to prevent the warning signal transmitter of a warning device that has already passed through a vehicle from being activated by the control signal of a vehicle subsequently following the same vehicle Warning device is operated again during the blocking period. This means that the warning signals are given to the vehicle in advance by the warning devices, which are each within the transmission range of the warning device detecting the vehicle.
Since all warning devices within the transmission range are controlled by the warning device that detects a vehicle using the transmitted control signal, warning devices that lie outside a possible vehicle detection range can also be included in the game warning system. In addition, individual warning devices can be replaced, relocated or newly added without having to adapt the control.
If one assumes that the warning devices are arranged alternately on both sides of the road guide pegs provided on both sides of the traffic route at approximately uniform intervals, then advantageous warning conditions result if the partial length of the monitoring section of the traffic route determining the transmission distance comprises an average of a maximum of three warning devices, because in this case the warning signals leading the vehicle ensure a sufficient response time for the game.
In order to prevent a vehicle that is coming within a predetermined period of time and which is also detected by the warning devices, the transmission of / 13
Triggering control signals, a renewed activation of the transmitter of the transmitting and receiving devices can be blocked for a predetermined period of time by a timing element excited as a function of the activation of the transmitter. This is particularly important for convoy traffic in which, under these design specifications, only the first vehicle triggers the warning signals, but not the following vehicles, which is also not necessary because the game, which is alarmed by the warning signals triggered by the first vehicle, does not cover the traffic route crosses the vehicle column.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. Show it
Fig. 1 shows a warning device of a game warning system according to the invention in a schematic block diagram and
2 shows the time response of the warning devices distributed along a monitoring section of a traffic route in a coordinate system, the abscissa of which shows the distance between the individual warning devices and the ordinate of which represents the chronological sequence of the warning signals.
A game warning system according to the invention generally comprises a large number of matching warning devices, which are arranged in a section to be monitored and distributed along a traffic route, usually alternately on both sides of the traffic route. 1, these warning devices preferably comprise two independent vehicle detectors 1, which can be designed, for example, as an acoustic receiver 2 for detecting an approaching vehicle on the basis of its noise development and as an optoelectronic receiver 3 which is particularly responsive to headlights to detect a vehicle both during the day as well as being able to detect at night.
The signals detected by the vehicle detectors 1 are fed to an evaluation unit 4, in which it is decided on the basis of the received detector signals whether these signals come from an approaching vehicle in order to control at least one warning signal generator 5 when the vehicle approaches. In / 13
1, an acoustic signal transmitter 6 and an optical signal transmitter 7 are provided, both of which are controlled at the same time, but this is not mandatory because, for example, the visual warning in daylight can be suppressed because of a low effectiveness in order to save energy. Irrespective of this, however, after actuation of at least one of the two signal transmitters 6, 7, re-actuation of these signal transmitters 6, 7 is blocked for a period of time predetermined by a timer 8, which is triggered after actuation of at least one of the two warning signal transmitters 5 and the control lines to the warning signal transmitters 5 interrupts, which is illustrated schematically by opener 9 in FIG. 1. This means that the warning signal generator 5 can only be actuated again after the time period specified by the timer 8.
The warning devices are also equipped with a transmitting and receiving device 10 for radio transmission of control signals, with the aid of which the warning signal generators 5 can also be controlled. This transmitting and receiving device 10 comprises a transmitter 11, a receiver 12 and an antenna 13. The design of the transmitter 11 and the receiver 12 are matched to one another in such a way that the radio connection has a predetermined, limited transmission range. Since with the detection of a vehicle by at least one of the two vehicle detectors 1, the evaluation unit 4 controls not only the warning signal generators 5 but also the transmitter 11 for the control signal for actuating the warning signal generators 5 of adjacent warning devices, these control signals are received by all warning devices within the transmission range and trigger the actuation of the warning signal generator 5 in these warning devices if the activation of this warning signal generator 5 is not blocked by the timer 8.
In order to prevent a control signal for actuating the warning signal generators 5 from adjacent warning devices from being sent each time the vehicle detectors 1 respond, which is particularly undesirable in the case of column traffic, the transmitter 11 of the transmitting and receiving device 10 can also be assigned a timing element 14, which after a Activation of the transmitter 11 a repeated / 13
Control blocks for a specified period of time. This time block is again illustrated in FIG. 1 with an opener 15 which can be actuated by the timing element 14.
2, the position of the warning devices w arranged at a mutual distance is indicated on the abscissa s representing the length of a traffic route section, it being assumed for the sake of simplicity that the warning devices w are evenly spaced, which is by no means mandatory. The ordinate t represents a time axis, so that the time-dependent movement of a vehicle along the traffic route at constant speed can be represented as a straight line f.
If an approaching vehicle is detected at time t1 by the first warning device w1 in the direction of travel, this vehicle detection triggers at least one of the two warning signal generators 5 of the warning device w1. The triggering of a warning signal is indicated in FIG. 2 by a circle. Since the evaluation unit 4 of the warning device w1 not only controls its warning signal generator 5 but also the transmitter 11, the warning device w1 sends a control signal for triggering the warning signals of adjacent warning devices w within the transmission range of the transceiver device 10. The transmission of the control signal is illustrated in FIG. 2 by a cross.
In order to create simple prerequisites for the explanation of the operating principle, it is assumed in the following that the transmission range of the control signal corresponds to one and a half times the distance between two immediately following warning devices w. Under these conditions, the control signal emitted by the warning device w1 is received by the warning device w2, but not by the warning device w3, so that the warning device w2 also emits a warning signal at the response time t1 of the warning device w1 before the vehicle enters the response area of this warning device w2. When the warning signal generator 5 of the warning device w1 is actuated, as in the warning device w2, the control lock of the warning signal generator 5 is activated by the timer 8 for a period of time tw / 13
Ί activated. Accordingly, if the vehicle approaching the warning device W2 is detected by this warning device W2 at time t2, only its transmitter 11 is activated, but not its warning signal generator 5, because at time t2 the blocking time for the warning signal generator 5 has not yet expired. This means that the warning device W2 does not emit any further warning signal at the response time t2.
The control signal sent by the warning device w2 at the time t2 reaches the two adjacent warning devices w1 and w2, which are upstream and downstream in the direction of travel, due to the predetermined transmission range. Because of the period of time tw which has not yet expired at the time t2 and in which the activation of the warning signal generator 5 is blocked, the control signal sent by the warning device w2 does not trigger a warning signal in the warning device w1. Such a lock is not yet effective in the warning device w3, so that the warning signal generator 5 of the warning device w3 is activated by the control signal of the warning device w2 and the warning device w3 emits a warning signal at the time t2.
This sequence is repeated from warning device to warning device, as can be seen in FIG. 2, so that from the warning device w2 it is not the warning device wi that detects the vehicle, but the warning device wi + 1 arranged in the direction of travel that triggers the warning signal, such as this can be seen in FIG. 2. However, warning devices w can also be used via the radioed control signal, which due to their position relative to the traffic route cannot detect a vehicle on the traffic route. These warning devices w only have to be arranged in the transmission range of a warning device that detects a vehicle.
By mutually coordinating the transmission range, the distribution of the warning devices w along the section of the traffic route to be monitored and the mutual distances of the warning devices w, it is thus possible with a comparatively low level of control effort to set up a different warning system which takes account of different conditions and which can also be subsequently / 13 just move, take away or add individual
Warning devices w can be changed without having to intervene in the control.
In order to achieve an advantageous adaptation to a column traffic, a repeated activation of the transmitter 11, which has already been activated, is blocked by a timing element 14 according to FIG. 1. This time period ts is shown in FIG. 2 and shows that a following vehicle only causes the control signal to be sent again if there is a time period between this and the preceding vehicle that corresponds at least to the blocking time determined by the timer 14. Such suppression of the warning signal triggering is however not mandatory.
